Moto X3M Is a Race Against a Clock

The timer starts the moment you touch the throttle. That is the whole design of Moto X3M: a side-scrolling track, a dirt bike, and a clock that punishes hesitation as much as a crash. Reach the finish and your time is graded. Crash and you restart from the last checkpoint with the clock still running, which means a careful rider can lose more time by being slow than by falling.

Most failures are not collisions. They are landings. Come down nose-first, or with the rear wheel too high, and the rider goes over the bars. The physics here run on nape inside Phaser 2, and the result is readable rather than realistic: you can usually see a bad landing coming about half a second before it happens, which is just enough time to be annoyed at yourself. That readability is why the game works as a time trial rather than a stunt sandbox.

Three Stars and a Bike Shop

Each level is graded on time alone. Finish at all and you get one star, finish reasonably quickly and you get two, and a clean fast run gets three. There is no separate score for style, which makes the rating a blunt statement about how much of the track you wasted.

The stars are currency. They buy bikes in the shop, and the build carries a shop data module, a vehicle list and an inventory, so the exchange is part of the game rather than a layer added later. Faster bikes make earlier levels easier to three-star, which shortens the grind if you are willing to replay. The catch is that a faster bike is harder to land, and the track that gave you trouble the first time will not be fixed by horsepower.

Backflips Buy Back Time

Stunts are not decoration here. CrazyGames states in its FAQ that a completed backflip deducts half a second from your total, which turns every big jump into a decision. Land it clean and you gain time. Catch the landing wrong and you lose more than the trick was worth. The half second comes from one site rather than the game files, so treat it as the rough size of the reward rather than a number to plan around.

The practical consequence is that the fastest line through a level is rarely the safest one. A rider who clears every jump flat will finish, and will finish a star or two behind someone who rotates once in the air and lands it. That is a good choice for a time trial, because it gives a nervous player a specific next thing to practise instead of the vague instruction to go faster.

Moto X3M Controls on Desktop and Phone

Four directions do everything, which is why the game feels simple until level ten.

  1. 1

    Accelerate

Up or W drives the bike forward. Holding it through a jump is how most accidental backflips start.

    Up or W

  2. 2

    Brake and reverse

Down or S slows the bike. In the air the same key rotates the nose down, which is the correction you will use most.

    Down or S

  3. 3

    Balance forward and back

Left and right rotate the bike in the air. Nearly all the skill in the game lives in these two keys, and the letters are bound to exactly the same actions.

    Left / Right or A / D

  4. 4

    Respawn or move on

Space puts you back at the last checkpoint, and after a finish it takes you to the next level.

    Space

  5. 5

    Pause and restart

P pauses the clock and R restarts the level from the beginning. Restarting is often faster than a bad checkpoint.

    P / R

  6. 6

    Phone players get buttons

When the build sees a non-desktop browser it draws four arrow buttons on screen. Same actions, no keyboard required.

Was Moto X3M a 2015 Game or a 2016 Game?

Both years are in circulation, and one site publishes both. CrazyGames says 2015 in the body of its Moto X3M page and lists 2015 in its series timeline, while its page for Moto X3M 4 states that the first game came out in 2016. SilverGames, funvengaming, cpsgames and moto-games.com all give 2016, and the iOS release date of 3 March 2016 fits that window.

Neither date comes from a release note. Both sides seem to describe a Flash game that appeared around then and was later ported to HTML5, which is why the same title gets different dates depending on whether a site is dating the original or the port. The version on this page is HTML5. If a precise year matters, 2016 is the safer one to quote, and the Flash original is the reason the trail is muddy.

The Moto X3M Series After the First Game

The first game turned into a series of six, according to the publisher's FAQ, and the later entries keep the physics while changing the scenery. Moto X3M 4: Winter arrived in November 2018 with 25 levels and snow under the wheels. Pool Party moves the tracks to a water park with slides and floating platforms. Spooky Land raises the density of moving hazards.

Playing them out of order works, because nothing carries over except the habit of landing on two wheels. Difficulty does change. Spooky Land assumes you can already three-star the original, and Pool Party trades precision for speed. If the fifty levels here start to feel like a long tutorial, that is the order to try them in.

Moto X3M FAQ

Is Moto X3M free?

Yes. It is a free browser game with no download, and the portal's structured data lists the price as zero.

How many levels does Moto X3M have?

The build on this page has 50, counted from the level files. Other versions and other sites report 22 or 25, so the number depends on which release you are playing.

What are the controls?

The up arrow or W accelerates, down or S brakes, and the left and right arrows or A and D balance the bike. Space respawns or advances, P pauses and R restarts.

How do you get three stars?

Finish quickly. One star for finishing, two for a decent time, three for a fast one. There is no style score.

Can I play it on a phone?

Yes. The game draws four arrow buttons when it detects a mobile browser, and separate iOS and Android versions exist on their own release schedule.

Who developed Moto X3M?

MadPuffers. The web version is distributed by GameDistribution, and the mobile release was published by AceViral, which is a different company.
